Operating principles

Huliswood Kelo-wood is mostly acquired from the Russian Karelia. We can organize your whole building project as a turnkey contract. Our partners are, for example, skillful carpenters and bricklayers, electric outfitters, heating, plumbing and air conditioning companies and furniture makers. Our customers are not only located in Finland, but our products can be found all over Scandinavia and also in Central Europe.

You can order handmade Kelo-wood log cabins as well as cabins made of round or dressed logs from the Karelian Republic through us. We can deliver Kelo-timber for your building needs, and other special timber is also available from us, for example birch, aspen, alder and larch.

Environmental Aspects

In northern Finland, people have been using Kelo-wood as firewood and building material for a long time. Therefore, on the Finnish side of the border Kelo-wood can mainly be found in nature conservation areas.

10 % of the forests in the Karelian Republic are conservation areas. All of our Kelo-wood comes from managed forests, outside of the conservation areas.
